Erik is kind and caring while also direct and challenging. He mixes a calming, supportive presence with awareness of strategic planning toward growth and resolution. Over the past 16 years, Erik has openly worked with people in the area that face challenges big and small. With specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Erik has increasingly focused on trauma or faced concerns with awareness of trauma.
Setting/Availability: both in-office and in-person
Payment: Erik accepts the following health insurances: Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Hennepin Health, Medica, Optum, Preferred One, Minnesota Medical Assistance, UBH, United Healthcare, and UCare. Outside of network coverage, out-of-pocket payments are accepted.

Erik is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Minnesota (since 2007). Erik is also a State Board Approved Supervisor, which means he advises new or unlicensed therapists.
Erik has been a contributing member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the AAMFT’s Minnesota chapter, which has included presenting at educational conferences and participation in a committee on improving supervision in Minnesota.
Erik is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and maintains up-to-date training on this practice. Through training, practice, and research, Erik is interested in the roles unlabeled trauma and attachment play in lifelong development.
In his personal life, Erik is a committed father and husband. He enjoys running, cooking, and outdoor activity.
Erik has a Master’s Degree from Argosy University. Erik’s degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy, which focuses on both interpersonal problems and solutions, as well as individual concerns with emphasis on systemic/family interaction with the individual.
